Kasthamandap re-build: first floor construction completes

Kathmandu, Oct 23 :The construction of ground floor of Kasthamandap has completed. Organizing a public hearing event on Tuesday, the Kasthamandap reconstruction committee said almost half of the re-build works of Kasthamandap has been over. 

 

According to Rajendra Shakya, chairperson of the users committee, said Rs 30 million has been so far spent in the re-build of the historical temple. 
The Kathmandu Metropolitan City had granted Rs 55 million to the users committee for the reconstruction works.
Wooden resources required for the Kasthamandap have been brought from Bardibas and Amlekhgunj. So far 4,038 cube feet wood had been used for the purpose. 

 

Dr Sudarshan Tiwari, heritage expert, said Kasthamandap is being reconstructed by using traditional technology and conserving archaeologically-important materials. The KMC had estimated to complete the reconstruction at the cost of Rs 198.8 million within three years. -
