Chautara, Dec 15 :  Twelve persons have died while 18 others were injured in a road accident that took place here this morning. The accident involving a passenger bus took place at Char kilo in Khadichaur on the Lamosanghu-Jiri road of Sindhupalchowk.

Of the injured two have been referred to Kathmandu while others are undergoing treatment at the Sadabahar Hospital in Khadichaur, according to Police Inspector at Area Police Office, Bahrabise Nawaraj Neupane.

The bus (Ba. 4 Kha. 4468) was carrying people from Kalinchowk of Dolakha to Bhaktapur when it fell some 100 meters below the road. The accident took place at 8:15 in the morning. Nepali Army, armed police and Nepal police personnel and the locals rescued the injured passengers.
