State's prosperity possible only from development of tourism sector: CM Pokhrel

Rupandehi. Chief Minister of State 5, Shankar Pokhrel, has said that prosperity of the state was possible only from the development of tourism sector.

Releasing the 'Tourist Guide' book published by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment here today, Chief Minister Pokhrel said that the state government has plan to give special emphasis on infrastructure development keeping tourism in centre this year. He said, "We have been investing in road infrastructure in order to reach the significant destinations of the state." Saying activities are underway to construct cultural stage at different places of the state, the Chief Minister shared information that cultural heritages of the state would be developed by linking with eco-tourism.

Chief Minister Pokhrel added that the state government has forwarded a plan to construct ring road and Buddhist museum at Ramgram to increase tourists stay in Lumbini. Talking about the budget expenditure of the state, he said that the details of budget released by the Office of the State Comptroller was incomplete. Chief Minister Pokhrel said the Finance Ministry of the state would release the fact details within few days including the amount received from the central fund as the details released by the Comptroller Office has not included this. The Comptroller Office on Thursday released the data that 63 per cent budget was spend in fiscal year 2075/76.
