Jhapa, July 25

Two men died due to drowning in the district today, said the police. The dead have been identified as Birendra Budhathoki, 38, of Haldibari rural municipality-1 and Kaji Bahadur Joshi, 68, of Kamal rural municipality-5.

Budhathoki's body was found floating in a water full ditch in the farmland near his house, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Mahendra Shrestha.

A search had been launched for Budhathoki following the filing of a police complaint about his missing, he said. Likewise, Joshi slipped into a canal while heading to a cowshed. His body was found five kilometers downstream, said Shrestha.
