Sixteen more individuals tested positive for coronavirus in the district today. With this, number of COVID-19 infected people has reached 170 in the district, according to corona focal person of District Health Office, Banke, Naresh Shrestha. Out of six local levels of the district, coronavirus has been confirmed at six local levels till today.
Six persons of Baijanath rural municipality, seven of Raptisonari , two of Duduwa and one of Khajura of Banke tested positive for coronavirus today. Shrestha further said that 114 people of Narainapur rural municipality tested positive for coronavirus where a person lost his life. Altogether 22 infected people have already returned home after recovery.
Preparation was on to carry out treatment of 16 new infected people keeping them at isolation centre constructed at concerned local levels, shared Shrestha. Meanwhile, coronavirus has been confirmed for the first time in Rukum (east) district.
Rapti Institute of Health Sciences, Dang, on Wednesday confirmed coronavirus on three persons of Puthauttarganga rural municipality of Rukum (east) of state-5—23-year-old man of ward no 13, 15-year-girl of ward no 14 and 18-year-old man.
Swab was collected from 57 people across the district for coronavirus test, it was confirmed on three persons. The 23-year-old coronavirus infected person had returned from Malaysia on March 19 while two others had returned from Bara, working at brick kiln, this month, according to the District health Office.
The two infected persons have been kept at quarantine of Siddhamandali secondary School, Rangsi, while the infected person, returned from Malasiya, is in home quarantine. The youth returned from Malaysia had undergone coronavirus test from RDT method on April 24 and he received negative result from RDT test, said officiating Chief at the District Helth Office, Rukum (east), Yadav Sharma.
